Marble Surfboard Coffee Table

Months ago I passed up a marble topped surfboard coffee table on Craigslist, and even though it was $150, I've regretted it. Well, this past week, I stumbled upon another one- this one at only $60! Isn't it stunning??

I love how much more grown up this one feels in the living room- so elegant! The old table has been moved to the library & will be made into a reading bench (where it looks much better), so more on that later. Meanwhile, I can't stop admiring the new one. Considering that it's in really good vintage condition, I feel like I got it for a steal...

Clearly, the pups think it's pretty swell too!

Giveaway! Free Print (winner's choice)!

The shop just passed over its 100th sale milestone this week, and to celebrate (and thank you all for your support)...
I'm giving away a free print of your choice to a lucky reader!

To enter for a chance to win, don't forget to follow the blog & comment on this post by next Wednesday, August 11th (11:59pm eastern time!)! Meanwhile, you can check out the shop to daydream about what you'd pick or where you'd put it (I'll be listing more prints all this week!). The contest includes shipping internationally & the winner will be chosen at random; one entry per person, please! Good luck!

Prints are suitable for matting or framing, print size is 8.5"x11", with an approximate image size of 5"x6.25" (depending on the original). I print on a lovely, archival Epson paper using Claria Hi-Def archival inks. Together, they provide a vivid, velvety result that is archival, smudge/scratch/water-resistant, and guaranteed to last 98+ years under glass! Prints are signed, titled, and dated on the front and shipped in an archival protective sleeve and stiff mailer.

Cozy Little Kitchen

The kitchen is finally done... and we love it!

Here's a summary of what all we did...
  • lowered the raised bar & installed white Corian counters (extended them a couple inches too)
  • installed an undermount, stainless, tight-radius Ticor sink with grids (which is amazing btw)
  • re-plumbed the sink & into the wall to keep the disposal (Jesse did an awesome job!)
  • put in a Grohe LadyLux3 faucet (the crown-jewel of the kitchen)
  • installed a ModDotz penny-round back splash
  • replaced a window shade with Emma Jeffs' Orba film
  • painted the back door bright red
  • put up a little chalkboard behind the clock
  • added 3 blue Glenn stools from Ikea
  • the Nelson Saucer (ok, that was a while ago, but I still consider it a big thing)
So it's all done now, and we don't regret a thing! We did all the demo & tiling ourselves, and it wasn't so bad at all. The best improvements are the sink/faucet area & that big expanse of countertop on the peninsula. It just feels so much bigger & brighter now! Hope you guys like it as much as we do... :)
