The Cone of Shame

Poor little Pickledog got spayed yesterday! She's doing just fine, but until she heals, she'll be sporting the ever humorous 'cone of shame.'

Meanwhile, Pepper thinks she's starved for attention.

Seems the cone gets quite a bit of recognition these days, so I thought I'd share some of what I've seen (and perhaps it'll make Pickle feel a little less humiliated)...

ummm, your dogs are SOOO CUTE! I wanted a doxie! I ended up getting a rat terrier - she's super-cute tho! Unfortunately, the DH doesn't like her too much, so she's staying with my mom now :-(

That pillow is hilarious! I think you might need to get that for your home. It's bright yellow...seems to fit already.

Looks like you're smart enough to prevent your dog from ripping out 2 stitches. Unlike some people we know...

Aw :)
Imagine the fun at work today when I opened up a product guide for lighting...and next to all the specifications is a pic of a doxie! ...I posted about it if you want to come looksee.

I saw that cone of shame pillow just a few days ago while looking for throw pillows...so cute and ridiculous and funny. I don't know if I could necessarily have it in our apartment, but it's sure a conversation piece!

Poor little doxie with her cone of shame...get better lil pup!

I know that dogs don't enjoy wearing the Cone of Shame, but...they're just so helpless and adorable in these photos. :)

Aw, poor puppy! When we had our dog fixed they put one of those awful cones on her. It threw her equilibrium off completely, she could barely see out of it, and she wouldn't eat or drink. It was absolutely terrible. So we ran out and bought one of the little inflatable collars and that worked so much better. She went right back to being herself and wasn't able to get at the stitches at all. I highly recommend them.
