Hello Spring!
Well, we've gotten an unusual (and temporary, so I'm told) batch of beautiful warmer weather here lately, and with it, spring! The bulbs are sprouting furiously and trees & bushes are starting to slowly come back to life. We've also seen a possum and a wild turkey in our yard in the past couple days... so, yup, spring is here!
Inspired by the warmer weather, I thought I'd share some recent colorful touches to the exterior of our house. The front steps got some nice little boxwoods in pretty blue containers (I know they're not flowery, but our yard needs some more evergreen staples). The Christmasy wreath finally got switched for something more cheerful and appropriate- isn't it great?

The wreath is an easy DIY too! Just wrap the multicolored yarn around a smooth wreath frame (I'm sure you could do one color or plan out your stripes, but I left mine to chance). If you want, you can add some yarn poofs to it too (more on those later). Really simple, fun, and customizable if you're looking for a new wreath!
And of course, the little window box trees are finally surrounded by english ivy! I still have room to plant season stuff in there too, but I'd prefer this look because it's evergreen, lower cost, lower maintenance, and very British. You can also see a little imp peeking out from the window wanting to know why I'm not inside entertaining her.
Hope you've got spring wherever you are too!

Just found you in the Etsy forums, great blog:)Have a great one!
I really like those window boxes. We are hopefully moving into our own new home soon and I want lots of plants and flowers. Now if I can keep them alive is another story.
